Wausau, WI – What started as a one-man business selling, servicing, and supporting 3M copiers in central Wisconsin in 1957 has evolved into a 280+ employee business spanning product lines and geographic boundaries. EO Johnson Business Technologies celebrated its 60th Anniversary on May 1, 1957.

Emery (E.O.) Johnson opened the E.O. Johnson Company in Wausau, WI in May 1957. A successful Milwaukee salesman for Victor adding machines, E.O. became interested in copiers when he came upon a secretary at a trucking company making copies. These intriguing machines were a new business in the late 1950s, and E.O. recognized the sales potential they presented. He sought out 3M and soon was their dealer for north, central, and western Wisconsin.

Over the past six decades EO Johnson has consistently taken new innovations to the business technology marketplace from copy machines, typewriters, overhead projectors, and fax machines to high volume color production printing machines, IT services, digital connectivity and networking, and document management systems. Making businesses better is how EO Johnson describes its focus.

Today, EO Johnson Business Technologies has seven offices in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa and seven different product divisions. Mary Jo Johnson, daughter of E.O., joined the company in 1985 after working outside the industry. She very much worked her way up through the ranks of the company her father founded, working in inside and outside sales, color, faxes, and training before being named CEO in 1999.

The products and people have changed, but the relentless commitment to customer service is the same as when E.O. himself walked the halls of his company. About EO Johnson Business Technologies: EO Johnson Business Technologies is a leading business technologies provider, offering managed IT services, managed print services, document management, scanning and business processes systems, and print/document and production printing equipment.
